New Day #285

First there was Marco! The Musical. Now there's Marco! The Hurricane.

I am officially a Force of Nature.

I'm embarrassed how happy this makes me. I'm sure it means I'm a raging narcissist, but never having shared a name with a storm has made me feel the same way I did when I was a kid and the Romper Room Lady looked in her magic mirror and recited all those names--"I see Billy and Susie and Bobby and Lisa..."--then usually some ethnic ones for good measure--"and Kiswana and Muhammad"--but never "Marc." It's not like I'm scarred for life, but it would've been nice.

So I feel oddly affirmed to finally share a name with a high-pressure weather system, even if it was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm and then--most galling of all--a tropical depression, which sounds like a bunch of bummed-out natives.

Speaking of storms, I did an appearance tonight with Storm Large and she let me bite her on the neck. Marc leaving his mark.

You know how we've come to understand that no woman can really turn a gay guy straight? Yeah, not so sure about that anymore.

Lastly, for those of you who don't receive my e-mail updates (what's up with that? Opt in on my home sweet homepage), I did another commentary yesterday on NPR's All Things Considered.

Absolutely, possitively. You are a force of nature even if your storm has been downgraded.

I'm currently taking a screenwriting class and am really looking forward to seeing "Holidazed". I'm sure your next writing adventure will benefit - though I don't see any need for improvement!

However, it is always about the STORY, and how it is told.

Consider the whirlwind....

Alright, I opted in. You were on All Things Considered! I love that show. I missed it. I usually listen during my lunch hour but had too many meetings to get out. Bummer.

Alright, I just listened to it. I feel caught up.

Nicely done!

I was on my way to the DMV to register my car when I heard you on NPR. I thought, "Is that the New Day Marc?" and I sat there and waited until the end to verify.

Gratification. And my given name, Marisa, was never ever included in name games. Alas.

God, I would give up sex with men forever just for the chance to lick Storm's left kneecap.

Hmmm, that looks a lot creepier on the page than it did in my head...
