New Day #336

While I was getting my oil changed the other day, the mechanic pointed out that my battery was corroded and that I could get rid of it with Coca-Cola. Not by drinking it, mind you, but by pouring it on the battery.

It worked.

More importantly, it worked in front of my godchildren, causing them to decide on the spot they would never drink a beverage that's capable of removing battery acid.

Here are some other reasons.

Geez, I'm going to have to stop drinking Diet so that I have the high-test stuff around for all those helpful hints. Carpet stains. Cleaning the driveway grease. Who would have known?

I've known that for a while. If you really want to scare your godkids, have them put a nail into a glass filled with coke and watch what happens to the nail over a week or so.

Fortunately, the acid in our stomachs is stronger than coke, unless you drink tons of it. Or so I'm told, anyway.

Yeah, the old baking-soda-and-water trick probably wouldn't have had near the impact on the kids. On the other hand, it wouldn't leave your engine compartment all sticky.
