To me, one of the hallmarks of effective art is that it infects your system. Like a virus, it can remain inside you for the rest of your life.
So, even though it's been a couple of weeks since the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art's TBA (Time Based Art) Festival, I've been infected with Tiago Guedes, a Portuguese performance artist who explored unforseen possibilities with paper shopping bags, including wearing them.
It never occurred to me that you could wear a paper shopping bag. Let me amend that; as someone who was once 70 pounds heavier, it never occurred to me that I could wear a paper shopping bag.
Or bags, as the case may be. Presenting the New Seasons look for the new season.
My godson said I look like a caveman.

I think it's pretty hot.
I concur--a HOT caveman.
You'll be very popular around Hallowe'en.
That makes me smile! Love it!
I'll third it, it is kind of sexy in a bizarre way. Now you can say that you can even make a paper bag look good. Not many can. The beard is very hot.
paper or plastic...definitely paper. damn! wish you were the bag boy at my market!
