Today's New Thing comes from my old summer camp friend Jason Feer, who lives in Singapore, as well as your friend and mine, the Internet.
The Takarazuka Revue is an all-female musical theater troupe in Japan that performs lavish, Broadway style adaptations of Great American Novels like Gone With the Wind. For those of who don't remember the scene where Scarlett performs a duet with herself, here it is.
(Warning: if you watch this clip more than once, you won't stop humming the tune all day.)
They also do actual Broadway shows, like Guys and Dolls, although the Guys are all played by Dolls:
But, no matter what, they always end with a splashy Vegasy finale on a staircase:
Which, really, is as it should be.

So I was talking to my friend Anne Waters last night and the subject of books came up, and also bloggers, (do you see where this is heading?) so my world has just shrunk violently.
I didn't even realize you wrote "How I Paid for College" (which I loved) until I talked to Anne last night. I am very excited to read your upcoming new book!
Oh, and those video are off the hook.
You're known by the company you keep. In which case, you're a rock star.
Very catchy tunes, and the song from Guys and Dolls sounds much better than Brando's version.
P.S. Thanks for stopping by my blog; I can still tag you with that meme, if you really really want to do it... ;)
Old summer camp friend as in... old French Woods friend? :)
Yup. French Woods.
