Visited Velveteria, the world famous museum of velvet paintings, which is just another reason I heart Portland. The owners have a gorgeous new book, too.

It's fawesome.
Note, please, how the King has a brighter halo than the King of Kings.

That picture takes me back to my childhood and our the total Elvis Freak of a neighbor. She not only had a velvet Elvis but also an oil painting of Elvis with her own image "paintshopped" in, so they could gaze soulfully into each other's eyes for all eternity. It was so fabulous in it's awesomely bad-ness!
Of course Evlis' halo is brighter. How many #1 hits did Jesus have??
