New Day #121

Brief trip to LA for the LA Times Festival of Books. I'll be appearing tomorrow, Sunday, April 27th, from 11 am to noon at the Borders booth (#301, located on the west end of Dickson Plaza near Royce Hall on the UCLA campus). Come visit me.

Did something I've always wanted to do, which is hike up to the Hollywood sign. Or I should say hike up to the No Trespassing sign which stops you from getting to the Hollywood sign. If anyone knows a way to actually get to it, I'd love to hear it.

Meanwhile, there's a big kerfuffle over proposed plans to build mansions around the "H," which is ironic, considering the sign was built to advertise a housing development to begin with.

Wasn't it HOLLYWOODLAND REALITY? or something like that. The Land part of it fell away not long after it was built. Or at least I think that is the urban legand of it.

....sooooo, do you have any plans on coming to the midwest?

Kerfuffle is a pretty great word.

Bah, these word verification things are getting kind of challenging.

It originally read Hollywoodland, referring to the development below. As for a trip to the Midwest, it depends on how "Attack of the Theater People" does. So pleeeeeeeze e-mail all your friends who you think will like it so there's a big sales spike in the Midwest.
