New Day #278

Test drove a Smart Car, which is surprisingly roomy. It turns out all they did was lop off the back.

It's a rather springy ride and gets comparable mileage to a hybrid, though for half the price. Which makes sense because it's only half a car. (See above.)

There's also a year and a half waiting list to get one, which seems an unusually long time for such a short car. I mean, shouldn't they be able to build them twice as fast as other cars? Extending this logic, a mini-van should have a six-year waiting list.

But as someone who turns every K turn into an HIJK turn, I find the notion of this motorized baby carriage very appealing.

Those things scare me. I feel like I'd blow away in a Nor'easter.

Amazingly, you're the first person I know who has driven one of these things. Next time I see you I'll ask you more about how it felt!

I so want to drive one! And if it's as comfy as you say, I'm going to want one, I just know it.

I've got one of these cars Marc. It's the best car I've ever driven.

If you come to the UK or anywhere in Europe you'll see hundreds of them.

Fantastic little motor car and incredibly safe.
