Today I opened Pandora's Box, both literally and figuratively. The Music Genome Project at pandora.com enables you to enter a musical artist, group or genre you like, and somewhere little musical gremlins instantly recommend music you might like, all of which you can listen to for FREE, FREE, FREE.
For instance, by typing in my favorite 1980s wacko, Kate Bush, I was able to discover the 1990s wacko I somehow missed, Tori Amos, who my friend Tara Dublin of 94.7 described as having written her songs "after the Mothership returned her to our planet." That led me to discover 2000s wacko Casey Dienel.
Prepare to lose hours of your life.
In the meantime, here's Kate Bush.

Nice to see you mention Kate Bush here. Long my favorite musical artist. I'm pretty stunned you'd never heard of Tori Amos before, but she's definitely an acquired taste. I would try to get my hands on some Happy Rhodes if I were you. She's pretty amazing.
I second Michael's stunned-ness. You're a Kate fan and never heard or Tori? Where you in a monastery for the 90's? Of course, I haven't listened to a new artist since 2003 so I shouldn't talk.
I just followed the YouTube link to Kate's "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" and fell in love with her all over again.
Thanks to the Music Genome Project I now know why I like the Super Furry Animals, because they feature "basic rock song structures, major key tonality, repetitive melodic phrasing, string section beds, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation, and extensive vamping." Yup, that pretty much describes it.
You're not kidding, Pandora.com is a rabbit hole I could fall down very easily (except I've already been down there, via Allmusic.com, over the last few years).
The video for Wuthering Heights makes me all warm and fuzzy :) Ah, I feel bad (but I will likely get over it), I should have given you some Tori and Happy Rhodes CD's when I lent you "The Hounds of Love" - by the way, I think you still have it - can I get that back :)
She sort of first does "horizontal jazz hands" of sort and then breaks into full-out "jazz hands on valium"...
I love Pandora! I've found all kinds of music I'd forgotten about and some I'd never heard of, like Antigone Rising. It's hell on my iPod budget, but so worth it!
While I respect her art, if someone locked me in a dark room and played that video...*shivers*
